Why do we need bees?
Over one third of the Global food production is reliant on bees. They are a vital part of our ecosystem. A single honey bee can visit over 2000 flowers in a single day – a strong hive can have up to 50,000 bees.... that's a lot of pollination!
And of course… honey!
How The Project Helps
Due to the daily threats to our native bee, and the decreasing amount of numbers, we decided to play our part in reversing the decline of the colony numbers throughout the United Kingdom. We aim to achieve this through a maintenance and nationwide breeding initiative.
We are the United Kingdom’s first and only nation-wide queen rearing and colony expanding project! If we spot any swarms and you’d like us to collect (free of charge!) please follow the link below.
Our Impact

In 2019 alone, we have helped create over 1,000,000 new bees! We have an established queen rearing network which we are rolling throughout the UK, which, under the project’s banner, ensures the maintenance, security and protection of our buzzy little friends.
Our network of bee keepers who maintain our hives and look after the colonies all work tirelessly to ensure the project’s success. We have various positions and opportunities for members of the community to get involved. Please get in contact to find out more!

And we’ve already achieved this within the first five months of the project! We have a five-year plan to reverse and increase the UK’s native bee population through our vision of creating awareness of the importance of our native and near native bee species
